PDK Walk for Education 2007 - October 27

Reserve Saturday morning, October 27, 2007 to join us in University of Toronto Chapters annual PDK Walk for Education. We gather to complete registration forms at the YWCA on Grosvenor St. and then walk several laps around Queen's Park.

The event raises money for PDK Awards and Scholarship programs and for Future Educator Association Clubs. The first Canadian FEA club was chartered in October 2006 at D.A. Morrison, a middle school in Toronto.

Some of the participants in PDK University of Toronto 2006 Walk for Education, along with Mayor David Miller, clustered around the Walk banner made by student walker and walk committee member, Fred Georgopoulos.

In addition to funds raised by walkers through pledges, donations from the following enhanced the comfort and the pleasure of the walk.

Thanks to Joe and Barbara Novak, walkers enjoyed the oranges and water from Joe's No Frills. After the walk, draws of donated prizes generated exclamations of delight from the lucky winners.

The quantity and variety of CDs in the box from Sony Music of Canada provided anticipatory pleasure to many recipients. The golf passes, each for four people plus two carts, were both won by golfing families. Movie money vouchers, courtesy of Andy Boozan, elicited excited "ohs" from our winning younger participants.
