U of T Kappans Use Different Types of Leadership

TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP: focuses on the commitments and capacities of organizational members, as well as their willingness to engage in extra effort on behalf of their organizations.

CONTINGENT LEADERSHIP: emphasizes the need for leaders to be responsive to the unique demands of their organizations and the contexts in which those organizations function.

Leadership Through Reflective Dialogue

Working through tasks, especially collaboratively, builds deeper understanding of concepts behind the tasks and therefore broadens leadership skills.

How you Can Be a Leader in PDK

  • be involved in the chapter's activities and assume a leadership role,
  • be involved in the research series,
  • volunteer to host an activity
  • contribute ideas for chapter publications
